We were tasked with creating a series of images that display/detail how sustainably sourced and recycled materials are used to create the latest clothing range from Nike.

As artists that primarily work in the abstract, we’re disadvantaged as advertisements with humans will always attract more eyeballs and attention. This means integration between CG and photography will always be a part of what we do.

This direction derives a lot from the natural elements, however, modernizes the natural world to make something innovative and new. This modern element being the graphic nature and unique/unexpected accent color associated with the element.
Fabric scrap waste is a big issue in the fashion industry. What if scraps didn’t go to waste? Recycled materials are just as important as sustainably sourced materials.

Direction 01 was chosen and it was time to translate that into the photographs provided to us. For the sake of art direction, we decided it would be easiest to use an alpha of the model in the actual cinema file. This made compositional adjustments much easier as we were able to see how the 3D assets integrated worked with the model.
There was a lot of process that carried us to the final result so here you can see how many iterations we made before we decided to finalize the frames.
